Founder's Inspiration:

Wendy Fisk has always insisted on embracing life, seeing independent times as an opportunity to explore her own interests along with the world along the way. She followed her independent spirit on solo travels across the globe, later living and working in Paris and settling (for now) in London. Throughout this, she developed her own selective skills in finding appropriate places to dine, follow sports and hobbies, relax and travel for fun. In her early career she was a primary school teacher with rather a lot of holiday on her hands, and then found herself drawn into the world of media and finally realised that stepping from one solo adventure to the next had made her somewhat of an expert in finding the right places to feel at ease.

With no guidance on where to dine when on business abroad or just casually out in her own city, or somewhere to relax and unwind and enjoy 'me-time' she's always been inspired to get out there and explore for herself. When she lived in Paris, her fridge broke, and the landlord never fixed it. So she ate out for breakfast lunch and dinner whether her friends came or not. She met international travellers and the locals, and found charming and welcoming places.

Now with a team of reviewers, including business travellers, parents taking a moment off, and expats new to town, timeforone.com recognises the value of 'doing your own thing' and the need to find the right places. We operate as mystery reviewers and only feature venues we truly believe in.

We have liaised personally with our chosen venues to ensure you are welcome and we negotiate special deals for individuals where possible. We help you to explore a world of experiences comfortably.

We also provide both the essential information and the friendly tips that help you on your own, from knowing there'll be a paper selection lying on the coffee table to special member's offers of reductions and complimentary drinks and single supplement free deals. Play for One offers a choice of entertainment across social settings, from interactive cookery courses to a cinema experience with a glass of wine and a footstool.

Away for One helps travel planning for active and inspiring breaks from re-energising in a retreat, learning a new skill or extreme sporting challenges.
